Abstract—FrameNet is a semi-formal lexical database. There are various attempts to formalize this database. This paper presents a partial formalization of FrameNet in situation theory. This mathematical theory of information may provide a fruitful basis for making FrameNet accessible to other fields such as natural language processing, computational linguistics and informational retrieval.
Index Terms—FrameNet, frame elements, frame-to-frame relations, situation theory.
